What Say You? PDF Print E-mail

It never ceases to amaze me how skeptical, we as a people have become.  Their goal of total complacency is working. Our elected officials have taken the lead that we have given them and have run full tilt with it. We no longer feel that anything we say and do can make a difference in the way our government is run. I say you are all incorrect and wrong for thinking so.

I was in a local paint store in Lansdale PA this past Saturday, and found myself in many discussions, as you would come to expect. What else do you do when you’re waiting for your paint to be mixed? Anyhow, the topic of state property tax came up with a loud roar of discontent. The talking heads as well as me all had our horror stories to tell, but none had a resolution to our very mutual, very strong opposition to the all-consuming tax.

Coincidently I had received an email from a colleague earlier in the week, which stated that Rep. Sam Rohrer of Berks County was going to reintroduce The School Property Tax Elimination Act (SPTEA) and it would be labeled as H.B.1275. I told the gentlemen standing before me what was stated in the email and how it would work, but immediately I was met with an astounding roar of “It will never work.” I couldn’t believe my ears. That’s when I came to the conclusion that our elected officials have completely brainwashed our society into thinking that “We The People” are no longer in control.  I was sickened and angry so I blurted back “ With that attitude you’re right,” and the debated continued.

I found myself discussing why it would work with people that just kept firing back at me every negative thought they could conjure up.  I thought to myself what will it take to shake the very core of our people into understanding that “We The People” are the ones to be telling our elected officials what we want them to do, not the other way around so I came to the conclusion that I had to right this letter to the editor to serve as a public announcement.

I pose this question to all of you. Who ultimately owns your home when its mortgage is satisfied? The answer is the Commonwealth of PA. You may ask how can this be? Please allow me to explain. When you fail to pay your property taxes the state has a right to strip your house away from you by means of the county Sheriff and offering it up for sale at a tax auction.  That is the fact, so ultimately you don’t own your home.

I bet our forefathers would be shaking their heads at us. They gave us a right to free and clear ownership of property and that right has been stripped away from each and everyone of us in this Commonwealth. Our children may never be able to AFFORD what we can afford today. To top it off we can’t even leave our homes to our children because if they can’t afford the tax, they’ll get booted from it. I hope you are seeing my point that the property taxes that ties our hands in this Commonwealth MUST BE ELIMINATED.

I have put together this website for discussion and comradeship, news and information. The site is in its very infancy, so please be patient. I am covering the topic of repealing the state property tax with great fervor because this issue must get our attention NOW, if we want to see something come of it. I will post any and all information as it flows in on this and on every subject that will strip our property and hard earned money away from us.

Well you may say I’ll just go to the commonwealths main website and yes you may.  I have links to the Commonwealths website because I believe that all information should be accessible. The benefit of my website is the community aspect which enables us to participate in topics for discussion, organizing events, forming groups for action, and anything that will allow “We The People” to regain what is ours in a peaceful manner and buy the power of written word and the dedication to taking action.

My website is free for all Pennsylvania residents to use at their own free will.  I will be looking for any and all information and will be adding it as I receive it.
